PAELLA POP

I cannot pretend that I am an expert in Flamenco music…I can’t even pretend (Shakira and and the dodgy Spanish Christina Aguilera album aside) that I know a lot about Spanish/latin music in general, I do however know incredibly sincerely that this song is absolutely off the scale amazing –

I haven’t been able to get enough of it since I first heard it. I particularly like it from 2.34 when the beat kicks in.

I love the juxtaposition of the (VERY) young sounding male vocals and the sinister sounding bass guitar and drums that run underneath the track. I also like the intense passion in the vocal. I know next to nothing about the performers and have as yet denied myself finding out more using the joys of wikipedia and google images. I imagine them to be slightly gothic (and grubby) looking Mexican goth children, something like The Cure meets a young Rodrigo from the latest flop series Big Brother . I quite like to think that they hang out in gangs similar to Baz Luhrmans Romeo and Juliet, and that the song is about desperately and passionately trying to win back a teen goth Mexican love. I do not really fancy my little fantasy surrounding the song to be shattered, so for now my eager wikipedia finger will stay stationary. Perhaps I have thought about this song a little too much, but oh well BOV. Lole Y Manuel, you and your song Tu Mira is officially a bit good.
